IMPORTANT INFORMATION: General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018

With effect from 25th May 2018 the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) will come into effect.

Sutton Vision is committed to compliance with the requirements.  Our policy is written in line with the Act and aims to ensure that everyone handling personal data is fully aware of the requirements and acts in accordance with procedures.  The policy is relevant to employees, volunteers and Trustees.

The purpose of the Act is to protect rights and privacy and to ensure that information is not processed without people's knowledge, and wherever possible, their consent.  SV is legally registered with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) to undertake data controlling.

All staff, volunteers and Trustees who process personal information are responsible for complying with the requirements of the Act and wil all aspects of our policy which is currently being updated to comply with GDPR.

"Works For Me" Programme

The Thomas Pocklington Trust in partnership with Sutton Vision "Works For Me" programme provides expert employment advice for blind and partially sighted people.  We can help with getting work or retaining your existing job.

"Works For Me" is open to all VI people who live, work or study in London between the age of 18-65.

  • One to one advice from our employment expert.  Available by phone/e-mail/face to face
  • Groups led by people sharing their experience of working with sight loss
  • Putting you in contact with other experts that can help.  IT trainers, counsellors and self-employment advisors
  • Our networking events put you in touch with other blind and partially sighted people who are in work or looking for work

Royal National College for the Blind

The RNC is working in partnership with the FA to run an England Talent Day specifically for VI footballers.  Anyone who has played football and is registered blind or partially sighted can attend on Saturday 14th April 2018, 10.30 - 1.30.

Budding footballers will be split into two age categories: 7 - 11 years and 12 - 16 years.
