Seeing Ear are a National Accessible Library for people with a visual impairment.  Since 2005 Seeing Ear has been supporting VI people across the UK by providing books in an accessible format at no cost to the user.

Today was our first meeting in our new "home".  Ten clients joined us for a very pleasant afternoon - they all enjoyed our new look.

Employer Insight and Networking Event

Date: 28th September 2018

Once again the Thomas Pocklington Trust and Lockton are collaborating to host an event for blind and partially sighted people looking to improve their employment prospects.

The event will include: 


  • Insightful keynote speakers
  • Professional CV guidance
  • Mock interviews
  • Professional development workshops


This presents a great opportunity to meet new people in similar situation and receive professional development.

Lockton is the larges global independently owned insurance broker and their staff will be available to provide employment advice.

UCL Interaction Centre

The UCL Interaction Centre is conducting research for the development of an accessible tool to help children with different visual abilities to learn basics of computer programming. 

Who: Children with different visual abilities between the ages of 6 and 11

Where: UCL Interaction Centre (Bloomsbury, London)

When:  1 x 2hour session between the 28th August and 12th September

What: We will ask your child (and a friend of their choice) to complete some basic programming activities using a series of physical blocks that can be used to play different melodies.
