RNIB Personal Independence Payment (PIP)

If you have sight loss or provide care for someone who does there are a number of welfare benefits you may be entitled to.  Some of these benefits can help provide you with an income if you are not able to work, while others can help towards the extra costs that often make life more expensive if you have a disability.  The RNIB have produced a number of factsheets to help you learn more about the benefits that you are most likely to be entitled to if your life is affected by sight loss.

To make a claim for PIP, call the DWP for free on 0800 917 2222 (0800 917 7777 if you use a textphone).  Please only use this number for new claims, for general enquiries please call the DWP PIP helpline 0345 850 3322 (0345 601 677 if you use a textphone).

There are many points to consider and understand about making a claim, for more information please contact the DWP or alternatively go to the RNIB website.
