V I Women's Group Picnic - Wednesday 16th August
After a successful lauch of the South London VI women's group in June a programme of activities and events has been put together. The programme was designed based on the thoughts and ideas shared at the group launch. The first get together will take place on Wednesday16th August where a lunch has been organised in Lloyd Park Croydon. The group will meet at West Croydon Tram Stop at 10.20. Prudential Ride London
We are delighted to announce that Terry James, who is severely sight impaired, will be taking on the 2017 Prudential Ride London on Sunday 30th July. Terry will be riding tandem with her husband Richard and will be raising funds for Sutton Vision. This is a challenging hundred mile cycle ride beginning in London's Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, Stratford passing through iconic landmarks such as Trafalgar Square and Richmond Park, zigzagging through the rolling Surrey countryside, taking on both the winding Leith and Box Hills before heading back to Central London triumphantly finishing at The Mall. Disabled Identification Card (DID)
The National DID card has been launched for people living with a disability removing the need for individuals to carry paper documentation. The card can be applied for by disabled individuals who are in receipt of qualifying disability benefits - DLA, AA, PIP, Blue Bade, ESA, Medical Evidence Letter, Registered as a blind or partially sighted person and Armed Forces Independence Payment. The card can be used as proof that these benefits are being received and therefore the card holder may be entitled to gain entry at concessionary rate.
